Description
Strip-Brite 228 is a phenolic-type paint remover formulated for removal of difficult paints and organic coatings from aviation parts and engine components. Strip-Brite 228 has thin viscosity designed for dip tank use. The wax seal prevents evaporation more effectively than water; it also increases the usable stripper content to 99 %. Most coatings are removed in 20 minutes, including some difficult primers. It is safe on all metals and will not cause hydrogen embrittlement on high strength steel as per MIL-R-81294 spec. Strip-Brite 228 is chemically neutral, stable for extended periods and easy to rinse with low-pressure cold water. It is an ideal tool for aviation engine rebuilding or aircraft stripping operations.
Directions
Use full strength at room temperature.
Rack parts in a basket and submerge in the stripper for sufficient time to loosen the paint or carbon.
Remove parts from the tank and wash with warm water.
Keep the tank lid closed to minimise evaporation.
Periodically remove paint chips in the tank using a strainer.
Caution
Strip-Brite 228 contains methylene chloride and phenol. Use only in well ventilated areas. Avoid ingestion, prolonged inhalation, and contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Use a face shield and solvent resistant clothing when handling or working with this product. Plexiglas and rubber should be protected from contact with Strip-Brite 228. Other surface materials may also be incompatible with this stripper; test a small area to ensure proper results.
